Mila Kunis Diet: Workouts and Wine


Mila Kunis stole the hearts of many men and women in America on the small screen in 1998 as the ditzy but lovable Jackie Burkhart on That 70′s Show. From there, the Ukraine-born star has exploded onto the big screen with her breakout role as Rachel in romantic-comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall (alongside Kristen Bell and Jason Segal) which was followed quickly by the Book of Eli with Hollywood titan Denzel Washington.

In 2010, Mila’s role in the psychological thriller “Black Swan” won her worldwide respect – plus a bunch of nominations including Best Supporting Actress. The pint-sized beauty has firmly earned her place in the industry and simultaneously become the girl everyone wants to hang out with and every man wants to date!

So how does Mila stay in such amazing shape? Here’s what we found…

Mila’s Diet: Wine, Chocolate and Leftovers

When it comes to eat Mila seems to stick to the 80/20 rule – with great success. She has shared, “I naturally eat pretty healthy. I love vegetables. I love everything healthy. I’m not like a big greasy eater.” The star is by no means perfect though, adding cheekily, “I do love chocolate, not sure if that’s bad or not.”

An avid traveler, Mila believes in experiencing everything about the places she visits – especially the food – and uses working out to find balance between the two. She shares, “I believe in hard work. In self-drive and self-worth. I’m a huge foodie, I love food. But when people say, ‘I can’t lose weight’, no no no, you can. Your body can do everything and anything, you just have to want to do it.”

Unlike many of her Hollywood counterparts Mila is not a big party-goer, preferring home cooking and TV. She told Harpers Bazaar in a recent interview, “I don’t go out very often. I prefer to stay home and have a nice little beverage and watch television. I can make anything out of leftovers.” Mila adds that her 3 personal training sessions each week give her the freedom to indulge in a favorite beverage of hers, “My glass of wine and I are besties.”

Mila’s Workout: Exploring, Spinning and Strength

Mila Kunis DietAfter her crazy Black Swan regime for 5-6 hours of dancing and an extremely low calorie diet was over, Mila found the drastic weight loss (20 pounds off her already-tiny frame) had changed her body forever. She shared, “my body has never been the same. My shape is different. When I got down to 95 pounds, I was muscles, like a little brick house, but skin and bones. When I gained it back, it went to completely different areas.” 

Like many of us ladies who dream of weight gain morphing into a Jessica Biel butt and Kardashian boobs, it was not to be the case… Mila laments, “I’d be happy if my ass got bigger. All the weight that left my chest went to my side hip, my stomach.”

In order to take control of her shape again in the lead up to her often-naked role on the movie ‘Friends With Benefits’ –  with equally sculpted hottie Justin Timberlake – Mila worked out 5 times a week with Brian using the P.A.S.E training system (power, agility, strength and endurance). Brian’s system departs from the old-school one muscle group/per workout mentality instead using full-body exercises that maximize as many muscles as possible within a single training session.

Brian spoke with Shape magazine about the P.A.S.E system saying, “The focus is rarely on a specific body part but on the body as a whole. The rest usually takes care of itself.”


Brian also shared a few exercises you can try at your local gym to get a Mila Kunis body – or at least try ;-)

#1 Walkover Pushups

Start in a plank position with both hands on a box/step/raised surface. Step off with one hand moving to floor level and keep one hand remaining on the box. Do a full push up in this position then return both hands to the box and repeat on the other side. Complete 6 reps (6 push ups) on each side. If you are a beginner, attempt these on your knees.

#2 Mountain Climbers

Start in a plank position and then pull one foot up and underneath you so that your knee is at chest level. Swap foot position rapidly, in a running-style movement. Complete 6 reps on each side. Make sure you keep your butt level and still as you move.

#3 Medicine Ball Slam

Hold a non-bouncy medicine ball with both hands and raise above your head. With your arms fully extended and feet hip-width apart, slam the ball into the floor. As you slam the ball drop into a full, deep squat and catch the ball as it comes off the floor. Bring the ball back up to a raised position, above your head and repeat 6 times.

Mila is often spotted hiking in the Hollywood Hills with friends to get her heart rate pumping as well as the charitable fitness studio, “Cycle House” where every workout means 2 meals donated to a person in need. Each cycle class is said to burn anywhere from 500-1200 calories for willing participants – yikes, that’ll get you sweating!

The star also enjoys hitting the pavement on her travels with her brother for added exercise, and to truly experience the heart of the city she’s visiting. She shared with Womens Health magazine, “I like the way he travels. He grabs a map, says, ‘Let’s walk,’ and makes you explore.”
